after 47 days. anthony is coming home.
i found you... then i lost you.
i am flooded with emotion. it is scary, exciting, surreal, happy, anxious, sad.
the man who left home 47 days ago was a very different man than the one who met me at the airport yesterday.
dr. jekyll & mr. hyde.
we are gearing up to climb this mountain ahead of us.
it is not easy, and we might have to stop, rest, reasses our path along the way and start in a new direction, but for now, we are at the bottom looking up... and from here, it can only get better. i have to put all of my trust in the LORD, because i don't trust myself, to know all the answers.
after 4 1/2 long years i am finally ready.
today is the 1st day of the rest of my life.
it is a beautiful life. i am blessed...

Dear Amanda~
You're such an inspiration. The only thing you can do is to take it one day and one step at a time. Some steps may be small, but at least they're steps forward...you have Heavenly Father holding your hand. You think Anthony is different, and he is, but so are you! It's much harder to face things head on, but that's what you've done and it's made you stronger.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving because you have much to be thankful for. Hope to see you over the Christmas holidays when we're over there.
much aloha,
Jane
Just remember you have lots of love and prayers willing you up that mountain! I love you guys and you are always in my thoughts. Enjoy your week together and make lots of wonderful memories.
Amanda~ I am so happy for you and your family. You are such a great testament of faith in the LORD's love. Know that He will be there with you through this constant battle. If you have to stop and rest along the way, rest in The Lord's arms. May He bless you each day, with the strength and courage to carry on. Your family will be in my prayers always.
Love, Korinne
Please tell Anthony how proud we are of him for the choice he has made. Our thoughts and prayers are with him constantly. I pray for a miracle in all your lives every day. We love him unconditionally, no matter what, forever and ever. Aunt Mari
so happy for you! I know how much you have wanted this. love you!
My heart is pounding for you right now. Be positive. Be calm. Be supportive. Take care of yourself first. It is scary and a hard, still.
My fingers are crossed. What a wonderful thing to be thankful this Thanksgiving.
HI, I just found your blog and am very inspired. Our family also went through the uphill battle of overcoming addiction. Although it is a gruesome and painful process, it does feel like an awakening. At least for me, I finally understood why we go to 3 hours of church, why we serve in the nursery, why we do all these things that take up so much of our time. It's for one reason, to bring us to the Savior and to wholly rely on Him and to feel the love that only He can bring. I was 30 years old when I finally learned that lesson. I think so many haven't ever had the privledge of learning it because we are so busy. But it's the most beautiful part of life. Thank you for being so courageous and TALKING about your struggle. It's only when we talk about these things with our ward family that we can truly mourn with those that mourn and comfort those that stand in need of comfort. Hold on- there will be a light through the coulds. I promise. You will look back on this time and realize how miserable it was and how you've finally found peace and joy. But you'll be a changed woman because of it- better equiped to face your life and love it too.
